CLUTTER SPEAKS
This is something I’ve said over and over again… in my TEDx talk, my Chaos to Calm classes, in my keynote speeches, on TV shows…
If I could shout it from the rooftops, I totally would.
The #1 question I get asked is
What is my clutter saying?
To know what your clutter is trying to tell you, you want to look at three important things:
1-Where is your clutter?
The location of your clutter will tell us what area of your life is trying to get your attention. Every area of our home connects to an area of our life…
health, finances, purpose, etc. Knowing what area of your life is connected to your clutter is a key part of figuring out what your clutter is trying to tell you.
2-What is your clutter?
What items are making up the clutter in your life? Unpaid medical bills?
Clothes that are too small to wear still?
Books you want to read but haven’t had time yet?
There’s almost always a pattern to what items make up the clutter in our lives, and deciphering what items continue to show up in a cluttered pattern is the next step in setting you free.
3-How is this clutter showing up?
Is it tripping you? Blocking others from being able to come into your home? Holding you back from working out? Making you feel like you’re failing at adulting? Seeing the “how” of our clutter is the next piece of key information that will help you hear what it’s trying to tell you.
Exploring those three pieces is vital in knowing what your clutter is trying to tell you.
Once you start exploring these questions, you’ll start getting insights as to what clutter is trying to tell you, or how it’s trying to help you.
Still curious about what your clutter is trying to tell you but want a bit more help figuring it out?
In the Chaos to Calm Community, I do regular Clutter Whisperer “What is my clutter telling me?” events. These are powerful sessions where I help you discover what your clutter is trying to tell you.
