When life is overwhelming, I need to exert physically. I will go to the gym and swim or ride the bike. As I do that, I find that I’m releasing my nervous, anxious energy and my mind can run through all the ‘to do’ items, put them into perspective and I can sort through them. If I can’t get to the gym, I’ll vacuum. That releases my energy while my brain can think through the items. When I’m done, I feel better and ready to take on the first thing that had been processed as a priority during my physical energy release.
I love this Debbie! I feel a similar feeling about running. A few years ago I discovered that if I go for a run once a week my brain, body and emotional self feels so much more dialed in.
