Don’t Let Those Returns Steal Your Joy (or Your Money)

We’re in that funny week between the holidays and the new year. It’s the time of year when time feels a little fuzzy, the decorations are still up, and half of us can’t remember what day it is.

Before you curl up and hibernate until January, I have a tiny (but mighty) task for you:

Do your returns this week. 🛍

I know…this is not the most exciting advice you’ll get all week. But trust me, Future You will thank you.

A client of mine recently told me about a pile of things sitting by her door—clothes she wanted to try on, gifts she meant to return—all patiently waiting during her holiday travel and family visits.

By the time she finally got around to them, the return window had closed. She lost hundreds of dollars in unused, unwanted items.

And I get it. We all have that pile. It’s the “I’ll get to it later” corner that stares at us every time we walk by. But those unreturned things don’t just sit there quietly.

They drain our money, take up space, and create one more lingering task—figuring out who to give them to or where to donate them later.

It’s clutter, but with a side of guilt and lost energy.

So, this week, grab your receipts, load up your car (or your tote bag), and take a quick trip to UPS, the mall, or wherever your returns belong.

The stores are calmer, the lines are shorter, and you’ll walk out feeling lighter—emotionally and financially.

Let’s start the new year with clear space, calm minds, and closed loops. No lingering “I still need to…” energy.

Comment below and tell me…

What will you return today?

Wishing you an amazing (and organized) year ahead.
