Thank you so much for sharing. I’m so sorry to hear about your son. My sister passed away at 30 and it took years for me to feel like I was operating at full capacity again…I can only imagine the challenge of loosing a child. Be patient with yourself, it takes time to figure out the new “normal”. I love your mom’s advice…very true. And, yes, clutter is often a rebellion of sorts. It can be a way to be seen or heard. Sending you and your family so much love and positive energy.

Do you think that my clutter could be in rebellion or to protest to the clutter that my husband creates?
My Mother would say, “Why put it down when you can put it away.” I grew up that way. For years I have been totally organized & kept a clean house. After the sudden loss of our 27 year old son my regular motivation to clean house & reduce clutter has been reduced drastically.
My spirit is broken & I guess I am becoming overwhelmed with my lack of home management.
PS-I just watched a video of you in a TedX presentation. It has really got me rethinking reasons to declutter & the motivation required to “clean & reorganize our home.
